Support our work

Understanding human immunity takes a shared effort. We welcome clinical collaborators and research supporters who want to help explain why immune responses differ between people and turn that understanding into better human health.

Clinical collaboration: build the science with us

We deeply value collaboration with clinicians. The questions you encounter in practice, your understanding of patients, and your commitment to long-term clinical care bring perspectives that are essential to human immunology research.

We would love to work with doctors across specialties to develop meaningful research questions, design studies together, and connect clinical observations with experimental and computational immunology. Potential collaborations include longitudinal immune profiling, vaccine responses, and the links between immune states and disease outcomes.

We see our clinical partners as scientific collaborators throughout the project—from shaping the question and study design to interpreting results and writing papers.

Shared work deserves meaningful credit

We want clinicians’ scientific contributions to be visible and fully recognized. We welcome shared authorship based on contributions and take seriously the intellectual and practical work involved in clinical research, including study design, cohort development, clinical phenotyping, and interpretation.

We aim to discuss roles, responsibilities, and publication credit early, revisit them as the work develops, and make room for clinical colleagues to lead. Where contributions warrant it, this can include first or co-first authorship and corresponding or co-corresponding authorship. Our goal is generous, fair recognition of the people who make the science possible.

Welcome research sponsors and supporters

We also welcome conversations with individuals, foundations, companies, and other organizations interested in supporting human immunology research and training.

Support could help advance cohort studies, experimental work, single-cell and multi-omics profiling, computational analysis, and opportunities for early-career researchers. We are happy to discuss shared interests and suitable forms of support with the institute.

We value transparent partnerships that preserve scientific independence. Financial or in-kind support will be acknowledged appropriately; authorship reflects scientific contributions and responsibility for the work.
